At Behr Psychology, we're always glad to hear from thoughtful, motivated clinicians who want to do meaningful clinical work as part of a collaborative team. We're a growing, depth-oriented group practice in New York City, and we care as much about creating a strong environment for clinicians as we do about the quality of care we provide.
We work with clients across the lifespan and welcome therapists who bring strong clinical skills, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to continue developing their work. With offices on Central Park West in Manhattan and virtual services throughout New York and New Jersey, clinicians have the opportunity to build a meaningful caseload while working within a supportive and engaged clinical community.
General Job Description
Behr Psychology is seeking part-time and full-time pre-licensed therapist (mhc-lp) clinicians to provide individual, couples, and/or family psychotherapy based on their training, interests, and areas of expertise.
We are particularly interested in clinicians who take their clinical work seriously, value depth and curiosity, and want to be part of an active professional community rather than practice in isolation. Clinicians have access to consultation, didactics, supervision, and opportunities for continued professional development.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality psychotherapy consistent with your training and areas of expertise
- Conduct initial assessments and ongoing treatment
- Maintain timely, accurate, and professional clinical documentation
- Collaborate with colleagues and outside providers when clinically appropriate
- Participate in consultation, didactics, supervision, and team meetings as applicable
- Build and maintain an in-person and virtual caseload of approximately 15–19 clients for part-time clinicians and 20+ clients for full-time clinicians
Qualifications
- Master's degree in mental health counseling or another qualifying field
- Current New York State MHC-LP status and eligibility to practice under supervision toward LMHC licensure
- Commitment to ongoing supervision and development toward LMHC licensure
- Experience working with one or more of the following populations: children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, or parents
- Training and experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, DBT, or other established therapeutic approaches
- Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while participating actively in a collaborative clinical team
- Availability for at least two evenings per week
What We Value
- Strong clinical skills and sound judgment
- Professionalism and reliability
- Intellectual curiosity and openness to learning
- Initiative and self-motivation
- Relational and collaborative capacity
- Capacity for self-reflection and commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
- Interest in continued clinical and professional growth
