Meet Our Therapists

Carli Betman, LMSW

Licensed Therapist

Navigating life is stressful, as is finding a therapist that can help you cope with it. I will be an active participant during our sessions, while providing insight and strategies to help you handle current and future situations with confidence. I am an empathetic and compassionate clinician who will listen and support you in reaching your goals and full potential. Through our collaborative work, we will focus on what you wish to get out of therapy and on becoming the best version of yourself.

I believe that finding a therapist with whom you can connect with and trust is crucial to succes in therapy. I am solution-focused, which means I help to build practical solutions to complex problems in your life. I have worked with diverse client populations all learning to conquer life’s ongoing obstacles. Being vulnerable and truly participating in therapy can be scary and difficult, but through our work together, you will feel supported and empowered to handle the challenges life presents.

"Talk to yourself like you would talk to someone you love."

Training and Education

I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan with a major in Psychology and a minor in Law, Justice, and Social Change. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University.

I have worked in multiple mental health care settings. I have experience working in the Children’s Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (C-CPEP) at Bellevue Hospital where I conducted crisis evaluations, lead therapy groups, and worked with children and adolescents individually. I currently work in a psychiatric inpatient unit at Bellevue Hospital where I conduct assessments, provide individual and group counseling to my patients, and provide parenting support. I have experience treating acute as well as long standing anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma. I am interested in both increasing access to and destigmatizing mental health treatment.
