Anna Nouzovsky, Ph.D.

Licensed Psychologist

I specialize in providing psychological assessments to offer clarity and insight for individuals and families navigating life’s complexities. Whether addressing concerns about learning, emotional well-being, cognitive functioning, or behavior, my goal is to make this process both approachable and meaningful.

My approach is rooted in curiosity and care. I begin by listening deeply to your concerns, ensuring I fully understand the questions that brought you here. From there, I tailor the process to meet your unique questions and needs, using reliable tools to explore areas such as cognitive abilities, academic strengths and challenges, emotional well-being, and personality dynamics.

I view this process as a way to paint a complete and nuanced picture-not just identifying difficulties but also highlighting strengths. This balanced understanding helps create actionable insights that inform next steps, whether it’s developing targeted interventions, advocating for support, or simply gaining a deeper understanding of yourself.

Once the evaluation is complete, I provide clear, detailed feedback in language that makes sense. I focus on making the results practical and usable, helping you and your care team take meaningful steps forward.

My role is to help demystify the process and deliver insights that empower decisions, whether for personal growth, academic planning, or clinical care. Through thoughtful and thorough assessment, I aim to provide the answers and direction you need to move forward with confidence.

Training and Education

I am a licensed psychologist in New York with a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, an APA-accredited program where I trained in psychological assessment and evidence-based therapy. My clinical training includes a predoctoral internship at the Albany College of Medicine, with experience at Albany Medical College, Capital District Psychiatric Center, and the Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center. I completed my postdoctoral training at Mount Sinai’s Harlem Health Center, focusing on trauma, mood disorders, and cognitive concerns, while refining my work in dynamic, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and trauma-focused therapies.

I have also worked extensively with underserved and rural populations in settings including the Texas A&M College of Medicine, delivering evidence-based care in medical and telehealth settings. These experiences strengthened my ability to tailor interventions to individual needs, integrating structured approaches with a compassionate and personalized perspective. My work is grounded in a humanistic philosophy, creating a collaborative, nonjudgmental space that fosters personal growth and honors all parts of a person and their story.

In addition to my psychotherapy private practice, I serve as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a Clinical Supervisor at CUNY, where I supervise psychiatry residents and doctoral trainees. I believe therapy and evaluation should not only address challenges but also highlight strengths, fostering resilience and meaningful growth.
